Senior Architect

We are searching for an experienced Senior Architect to oversee the company's new construction projects. As the Senior Architect, you will mentor other Architects, interpret client briefs, and review contracts and designs. You should have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of CAD software, and the ability to handle negative feedback.

To be successful as a Senior Architect, you should display great interpersonal skills and be able to relay important information. An outstanding Senior Architect should also be open to criticism and learning opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviewing and designing architectural and engineering plans.

• Ensuring all plans are compliant with governmental health and safety regulations.

• Researching and maintaining knowledge of various engineering disciplines, application methods, and materials.

• Monitoring the work of other Architects and making recommendations or scheduling workshops as required.

• Providing guidance to subcontractors like builders, plumbers, and electricians, and helping them interpret design specifications.

• Liaising with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met.

• Ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets.

• Acting as a mentor to new Architects and helping them fine-tune their design skills and improve their industry knowledge.

• Networking and consulting with various industry professionals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or similar.

• MA Degree in Architecture or Design might be preferable.

• The relevant state license.

• A good portfolio and several years of work experience as an Architect.

• Willingness to work overtime as required.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Brilliant interpersonal and networking skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly analytical.

• In-depth understanding of CAD and AutoCAD software.

Design Intern

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform as part of a design team. This position takes direction from the VP of Design & Renovation and works independently and collaboratively to complete design projects within the renovations team. Projects will consist of conceptual thru schematic design including, but not limited to: obtaining quotes, design materials, furniture and floors plans, and producing project specifications. You will develop and maintain FF&E budgets; and work with purchasing to ensure products are delivered to meet project schedules – including re-selections if necessary. Assemble presentation boards and presentation materials and concepts as needed. The accomplishment of these duties will be performed in conjunction with a team concept and environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executes project work and revises priorities as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements in a fast paced environment; with and without supervision.

• Develops and implements creative designs with a focus on destination design and varied themes appropriate for different resort locations and project needs.

• Support the design partners in the development of conceptual programming, creation of presentation materials, finish and material selection and specifications, and furniture selection and specification.

• Develop and maintain FF&E budgets, assemble presentation boards and materials; and establish relationships with manufacturer’s representatives.

• Construction documents including CAD drafting and FF&E specification writing.

• Ensures timely completion of projects and that all financial goals are met.

• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Interior Design Degree from an accredited school of design

• 2-4 years of professional experience in Hospitality Design. Timeshare experience a plus.

• Autocad proficiency and specification writing are required.

• Experience in effectively working in teams to achieve departmental and company goals.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and must be detail oriented.

• Ability to read and interpret construction and architectural documents such as blueprints.

• Carries out any reasonable request by management of which the employee is capable of performing.

• Ability to communicate, by verbal and written means, clearly and effectively with outside vendors and employees of our organisation.
